Travis Skavhaug - Lead Pastor

Travis has a passion to see healthy churches thriving in every community. As a Lead Pastor of Legacy Church he is primarily responsible for leading the areas of preaching, vision casting, outreach, and pastoral care.

Travis is dedicated to championing the mission and vision of Legacy by cultivating a church culture that allows people to experience God and grow in their relationship with Jesus in a practical and deeply transformative way. Travis also serves as a Church Multiplication Network Rep providing information and advice to inquiring church planters interested in launching new churches in Alaska.

Where are you from: Devils Lake, ND

Education:
- BA in Intercultural Studies and Biblical Studies from Trinity Bible College (Ellendale, ND)
- MA in Christian Ministries from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (Springfield, MO)
- Maybe a Doctor of Ministry degree one day too?

Ministry Experience:
- 4 years as Youth Pastor in ND, WY, and MO
- 4 years as Lead Pastor in ND, WY, and WI
- Several years of volunteering and volunteer leadership in several churches.

Hobbies:
- Walks with our two Siberian Huskies, movie nights with the family, playing video games, and sight-seeing in our beautiful state!

Jen Skavhaug - Co Lead Pastor

Jen is passionate about developing people and helping them to become the person God has created them to be, while growing in their relationship with Jesus.

Jen is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach. She uses her gifts and callings as a Christian Counselor in her private practice. Jen is passionate about helping children and their families grow and has worked with over 1000 children and their families.

She is currently leading in Worship and as our Children’s Pastor.

Jen grew up in the military as an Air Force brat and has led in ministry alongside her husband Travis since 2005. She achieved her Bachelors in Biblical Studies and her Masters in Counseling. Jen is also a published author of her book Pursued with Relentless Love found on Amazon and in our Merch.

For fun Jen likes to go on walks with her dogs, paint, watch movies, and kayak.

Opportunities

Worship Team Members

Join the Legacy Worship team and help lead the church in celebration, adoration, and praise of God. Utilize your craft (skill), character, and calling of playing instruments, singing, and operating production equipment to create an environment where we can experience God's presence and dedicate time to being with Him. There is a tryout process to go through before officially joining the team; to get started contact us via email to let us know you're interested and we'll get you going.

ONLINE PASTOR/DIRECTOR

Church is no longer an in-person only experience. We are committed to providing an engaging and meaningful church community with a hybrid model of online and in-person. We need someone who can lead and champion this concept by helping people engage online to truly be part of Legacy no matter where they live.
